My child is not ready to move up to the Minors or the Majors or the Juniors. Can he/she stay in a lower division?
All situations are handled on a case-by-case basis

Please see Jim Wagner or Marcia Brown during registration.

My child is an excellent athlete and should be moved up a division. Is that allowed?
We do allow children to move up on occasion, but this is not something we encourage. Allowing your child to be the leader on a younger team builds self-esteem while being the little kid on an older team can rattle confidence.

My child really wants to play on the same team with a friend. Can you arrange to make that happen?
We do everything we can to make that happen and most of the time we are successful. However, if we get a large group of children all requesting to play together, there is a good chance that they will be broken up into smaller groups.

My child is moving up from one division to the next. For what team will my child play?
We won't know this until after the player draft in March. We will keep you posted.

Can I coach for my child's team?
Maybe.

There are coaching opportunities throughout the league, but most are filled by returning coaches. Understand, most of our coaches got to their current position simply by helping out around the dugout.

Understand that you will be required to fill out a background check before you work with the children in any capacity.

You will also need to complete the concussion training online (click here) and turn your certificate into Marcia Brown before you are able to begin practice.

If I coached previous years, do I automatically get the same position the next year?
"Volunteers in the local Little League program DO NOT HAVE TENURE, regardless of the years of service. In order to serve, a manager, coach or umpire must be appointed by the league president and approved by the local league board of directors annually. Prior services does NOT guarantee re-appointment." (2013, Little League Operating Manual)

Where do we park for MYL events?
Please refer to this map for parking questions

The no parking areas are for safety reasons. We need the entries to all fields free and clear of cars to allow emergency vehicles in.

Also in the “bell” area by t-ball and A field. Please remember to leave room for other cars to get in and out.

How do I know if practice or games are cancelled due to weather?
Our league president will make the final decision on weather cancellations no later than 1 hour prior to game time.

We will post the status on our facebook page (www.facebook.com/milanyouthleague) also coaches will notify their player’s parents.
